Tiger by the Tail produces wild, bold and beautiful flowers for weddings, private events and unique occasions.

Founded in November 2016 by Jess Burling, Tiger by the Tail was created with a simple philosophy: to offer something different.
Different flowers, a different service, and a different approach.

Things that make you go "oooh"

Tiger by the Tail only produces arrangements that include carefully selected flowers from a rich and varied colour palette. I pride myself on my unique and bold style, and I aim to create pieces that truly stand out. What’s more I'm passionate about what I produce, so if I don't love it then it doesn’t go out the door.

Trust me, I’m (not) a florist

Well I am, but I’m a relatively new one. Before I stepped into the world of floral design, I gained more than seven years’ experience working in the creative marketing industry, helping brands to connect better with people and really understand their customers’ needs. This means that Tiger by the Tail prides itself on client servicing; so whether I'm designing a huge event installation or creating a tiny bridal buttonhole, each arrangement and every customer is treated with the same care and attention.

Let’s stay together

Nowadays, everyone will tell you they offer a ‘bespoke consultation service’ for your big day or private event. But what does that really mean? At Tiger by the Tail it means I don’t just talk to you about flowers. I get to learn about the songs you love, the colours you hate, your upcoming holiday and your nightmare boss. I’ll see the process through from the very beginning to the very end, and promise to fill you with confidence and reassurance along the way. I'm your florist, your agony aunt, and your sounding board; and I’ll more than likely do it all over a brew (or something stronger).

Say goodbye to middle-of-the-road bouquets and tired arrangements, and hello to wild, bold and beautiful flowers.

Or registry office, medieval castle, deserted beach… Whether you’re having an intimate get together or a big blow out party, I can advise, support and deliver all the floral elements for your day. No challenge is too great, and I’ll work closely with you to ensure that your flowers set off the look and feel of your wedding perfectly. Bloomin’ marvellous.

I’ll start by meeting you for a face-to-face consultation so that I can begin to get to know you, and understand a little more about your requirements for the day. Afterwards I’ll arrange a site visit, so we can walk your venue together and start to build up a picture of how your flowers might look in situ. I’ll then provide you with a final cost and hey presto! You’re all set. All my pricing is done on an individual case-by-case basis, and I'm happy to work to different budgets.

So said Emma Goldman, and I'm inclined to agree. Having had extensive experience of working in events, I know that it’s often the tiniest details that make the biggest impact. When there’s a million other things to consider, rest assured that you can leave the flowers in my capable hands.

Whether you're a hotel, bar, or restaurant that’s after a seasonal installation to set you apart from the competition, or an events organiser looking for something with a bit of ‘wow factor’; either way, I can help to create something bold, beautiful and different that’ll be sure to capture everyone’s attention.

Ever wanted to learn how to make and style the perfect dinner party table? Whether it be a special family gathering, a simple supper with friends, or a festive feast that's designed to impress, we'll show you how to create a gorgeously "grammable" tablescape for any occasion.

Join myself and stylist Kerry Poulter for this three hour workshop, where you'll learn how to make a beautiful floral urn arrangement and then style a table around your flowery creation.

I'll start by giving you a step-by-step tutorial on creating your natural arrangement using a selection of beautiful, seasonal flowers and foliage, before handing over to Kerry to guide you through all the elements for a Pinterest-perfect table design. You'll work in small groups to build your own tablescape using linens, crockery, candles and props, all nestled amongst your fabulous floral centrepiece. There will also be a chance to photograph everything you've made, so be sure to bring along your camera, phone or selfie stick to capture the fruits of your labour!

All your materials and equipment are included, as are glasses of something cold and bubbly alongside tea, coffee and generous slices of delicious homemade cake and savoury pastries. At the end of the workshop, you'll be able to take your masterpiece with you so that you can enjoy it at home for days to come.

This course requires a minimum of 5 attendees; in the event of us not reaching this minimum number, an alternative date or full refund will be offered.
